A lifelong pursuit for me....

I absolutely love Sister Marjorie Pay Hinckley, wife of former prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley. She is the kind of lady and mother that I strive to be. So many of her talks and quotes that I have read over the years say exactly how I feel or have felt. Just today I came across one - this sums up my feelings to a tee. I hope that in 50 years, some of my posterity will remember me as fondly as I remember Sister Hinckley. It is a lifelong goal that I strive for - to be as good as a mother as she.

Here is a great one from her,

“I don’t want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone’s garden.
I want to be there with children’s sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”

I can't say it any better than that!
